Surrey Student Awarded Google Scholarship

A computing student at the University of Surrey has been praised as one of the best in the world and awarded the Google Anita Borg Scholarship for her excellent work. The scholarship is worth €7000 and recognizes women excelling in computing and technology as active role models and leaders.

The scholarship is named after Dr. Anita Borg who founded the Institute for Women and Technology and was set up by the global internet search engine Google. The university programmes manager for Google, Jenny McColl said the 21 year old winner is a “fantastic example to her peers and she is thoroughly deserving of the Anita Borg scholarship.”
